First off, was girl's camp. For those of you who don't know, each year the church has an almost week long camping trip for girls from the ages of 12-18. We camped at Wai Lani which is a Girl Scout Camp. It is hot and humid, but they have an outdoor pool which is nice. When I say hot and humid, I have never gone to a girls camp as unpleasant, weather-wise as in Florida. You are talking the middle of June in Florida, outside. CRAZY. When I was growing up I camped in Alaska, Oregon and Idaho...which ..are nothing like camping in FL.
But, anyhow, in years past I would go up for the whole week, but this year I only went up in the afternoons to help and then stayed overnight on Thursday and Friday. These were some of the highlights.
- Throwing Deann in the pool with Dolly
- Throwing Julie in the pool with Dolly, Emily and Lauren (she fought much harder and it took more people)
- The greased pig wrestling. It is a popular rodeo activity; let little kids try to catch a greased up pig. We had one, two or three girls at the most in the pen and timed them to see how long it took them to catch it. It was quite entertaining.
- The food. Normally girls camp food is fine. This year it was GOURMET!!! I am not kidding. We are talking one night grilled steak and chicken and corn on the cob and rolls and salad. One morning it was Creme Brulee French toast with bacon and sausage. Oh my goodness...the best food ever.
Now onto Youth Conference. There was a lot of youth, we did some dancing, a service project, some games, a movie and a testimony meeting. It was great!
So, you can mark those off the list.

Why didn't they have pig wrestling when I went to the Tampa Stake Girls Camp? All we had was some lame-o dunk tank.
who knows...it was just cooler this time.
I think this post is where it started getting really bad. It was sort of a gradual process so it's hard to make a firm dividing line, but I'll just say it's here.
