Overcame infertility and started playing catch up. Our "sprouts" were a little late in springing, but now they are shooting up fast. This is us!

another one to mark off
While looking at my list I noticed that I had not talked about the Harry Potter opening. Yes, it may be old news, but it is news nonetheless. I will give a bit of back story about my run in with Harry Potter. I was not really into it, or I was just busy doing other things when the first book came out. I was still in High school and probably immersed in basketball, or student government or whatever. I did find the movies interesting enough, but it was not until November of 2004 that I truly came to LOVE Harry Potter. My friend Shannon convinced me, easily I might add, that I should read the books. She just happened to have all of them up to number 5, not to mention all of them on tape and CD. So, I started reading. I was HOOKED! I read all 5 within a very short period of time. When book number 6 came out, I was in Alaska visiting my parents and when Russ brought it up for me by surprise (I thought I would have to wait until I got home from my trip.) I read it in like a day or so. I sat in the living room or shut myself in the bedroom and read til I was done. I will say that I balled at the end of that book. Anyhow, fast forward to July 07 and I pre-ordered mine at Borders. Then Shannon called and reminded me that Borders was opening at midnight for the release...and invited me to go. I decided to go with her and her sis. She had gotten some Harry Potter candy to celebrate the occasion. We had the chocolate frogs and then enjoyed some All-flavor Beans. I did have to wait for about 2 hours in the book store while annoying people were yelling Marco, Polo across the whole place. We saw the regular HP fans dressed like their favorite character, but we also saw some tweeners dressed in full formal dresses. It was craziness, but was worth it. If I had not had to do anything on Saturday or Sunday I would have had it read sooner, but it did take me two days. (and no, I do not eat all my Halloween candy in one day) So, there you have it. I love J.K. Rowling and think that she is amazing and I love her for bringing us Harry Potter. The end.
