Conference

As the dew from heaven distilling
Gently on the grass descends
And revives it, thus fulfilling
What thy providence intends,

Let thy doctrine, Lord, so gracious,
Thus descending from above,
Blest by thee, prove efficacious
To fulfill thy work of love.

Lord, behold this congregation;
Precious promises fulfill;
From thy holy habitation
Let the dews of life distill.

Let our cry come up before thee;
Thy sweet Spirit shed around,
So the people shall adore thee
And confess the joyful sound.

What a great Saturday. (In years past I have sometimes gone to a conference for the Florida Kindergarten Council on the first Sat. of October. I rationalized my missing the Saturday sessions of conference by saying that I would read the messages when the Ensign came out. I also thought it was worth it for me to gain more knowledge about teaching and my work as a teacher.) This year, however, I have decided that participating in General Conference is more important than going to the FKC conference. I am so happy that I made that choice. Conference has been uplifting and wonderful so far. I have been touched by the Spirit and have felt a stirring in my soul. I have been overcome with joy and gratitude to Father in Heaven for all of my blessings. I feel fortunate to hear from modern day prophets and apostles. Like the dews from heaven distilling...

I was especially touched by Spencer J. Condie's remarks.

What have you loved so far?

I LOVED conference, and was particularly touched by President Eyring's talk. I really loved E' Bednar's as well-He will always have a place in my heart from our Rick's days.
MAN, you can't get any better than a weekend of spiritual feasting. I think I love/look forward to conference weekend as much as I do Christmas!

I loved the talk by Brother Costa. His story of "If tomorrow never comes" made me sob! It made me realize how much I love my family. They mean the world to me. My sons are the best things to happen to me along with my husband. I am so excited for you to feel that with your little girl. I never knew I could love someone so much as I love those little boys. I love you guys and keep you in my prayers!

Becca, I thought conference was very uplifting too. Well, as much as Sidney would let me listen too! She thought it was funny to start shouting in the church, then giggling (very loudly, so that everyone could hear). I am just glad that she is a happy little baby.

Hey Becca, what part of Tampa do you live in? I have a friend, over here in Port St. Lucie, that might be looking for a place in Tampa. I just wanted to know what you thought of the different areas there. If you could email me that would be great! cmarie02@yahoo.com

Thanks a ton!
