Slacker

I feel like a total slacker. I did not do a Father's Day post and have been feeling guilty ever since Sunday. I am way to blessed to not acknowledge the Father's in my life.

First off, is Grandpa Neilson, my DAD.
Some people I know refer to him as Paul Bunyun. He is the epitome of an "outdoorsman." He hunts, he fishes, he does taxidermy work, he builds homes, shops, boats, dune-buggies, he makes knives, does his own re-loading, makes jerky and smoked salmon, he can cook breakfast foods, killer asian foods, and nearly everything else, he pulls off a mean fish-fry, and he can fix almost anything.
I grew up with him tickling us kids to death, wrestling with us, playing all kinds of sports with us, singing all manner of good and crazy songs around the house and in the car, waking us up with ice cubes, cooking us great meals, rubbing his mustache on our faces, teasing and joking around with us and teaching us how to work hard. He is one of the most inventive and creative guys I know. He is very adventurous. He can talk more than me! Which is A LOT! He loves to tell stories and jokes and loves to laugh.
HE LOVES MY MOM MORE THAN ANYTHING!!
He is also a worthy priesthood holder. He has been a wonderful dad to me and my siblings and we are blessed to have him as a father.

Secondly, is Papa. Russell's dad.
I think the best thing that demonstrates what a great dad He is, is his son, MY HUSBAND, RUSSELL! Not only Russell, but Diane, Donna, Kathy and Nancy. When you raise 5 kids and they all turn out as good as these 5, you know they had a great father!
He is smart. He knows A LOT about A LOT of things. He has a great amount of knowledge on several subjects and really you just have to ask him to find out anything about anything. I like to refer to him as a WALKING ENCYCLOPEDIA. This information also includes anything church related. Have a question about something in the church handbook? Just ask Papa, he doesn't even have to look it up.
He is the TRAIN MASTER! He frequently hosts "Train Fests" with the family. He is big into trains.
He also has many talents and skills. He can speed-read, he can fix cars, he was in the Air Force and worked on jet engines, he can board up a house, he's good with computers, and he is a handyman.
He has a dry sense of humor and can tell funny stories from his life. I am often learning new and interesting things about him.
He is a patient, calm, level-headed guy and I think that is where Russ gets it from. He is methodical, he is a great teacher and example.

Lastly, is 2p. The father of my angel.
He's the cheese in my quesadilla.
The batting in my quilt.
The thread in my sewing machine.
The water in my well.
He is a great father to Baby Eve. He is a loving husband to me. He is funny, smart, hard working, handsome and a good person.
I could go on all day.
Happy LATE but FIRST OFFICIAL FATHER'S DAY 2P!

Becca!

You are so cute. I especially love the words you used to describe your hubby. It is so wonderful to see the man you love become the father of your child isn't it? Your love grows to a whole new level. I am so happy that you guys are able to experience that too.
