bad things

I had to have my gallbladder removed.
I went to the E.R. on Monday morning with chest and back pain. They did an x-ray, and EKG, and an ultrasound. Everything looked normal and the pain I was having went away, so I went home.
Then, about 2:00 in the morning on Wednesday I awoke to the same pain I had had Monday, except it was more intense. Let me just say, I had natural childbirth and this pain I was having was at times, worse than childbirth...and it was constant. It would not go away.
So, we went back to the hospital where they did another EKG and then did a CT scan. Turns out I had a gallstone. So, they kept me in the hospital and Thursday they did surgery to remove my gallbladder. Now, I am at home with 4 small incisions in my body, one which is in my belly button, and I am in pain. But, I am on the road to recovery.
The worst thing about all of this is I have not been able to take care of my baby. Thanks so much to Mom Robinson for taking care of her. I also cannot breastfeed her for like a week so that the drugs they gave me can get out of my system. I have to pump and dump to keep my milk flow going and then hopefully after a week is up, I can resume breastfeeding her.

Anyhow, that is that.

I hope that your recovery is quick and that you can get back to things, especially nursing! I LOVE the photo, nothing like hospital gown fashion!

Becs...I'm so sorry. You look so disappointed....annoyed....frustrated (I can't quite find the right word) That stinks. Holy cow, I can't imagine that pain. I hope you get better quick.

Here's to a quick recovery! Despite it being very inconvenient and disappointing, I'm so glad they were able to figure it out and fix it. With laprascopic surgeries these days, you should be back at it really soon. Keep your head up and know we are praying for you!

oh man, I'm so sorry that sounds so miserable. I hope the breastfeeding picks right back up - supply issues are not fun! I wish I could help in person, but I'll be praying hard for a speedy recovery. *Hugs!*

Oh Becca! That is awful. Sorry you are having to go through that. Good for you though wanting to keep breast feeding and being willing to pump this whole time. I am glad your mom is there to help you care for your sweet baby. Get better soon!

Becca, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that experience. I had the exact same thing happen to me. About a month after Spencer was born I was having awful back pains that would last for an hour. At first I thought the pain had to do with the way I was breastfeeding or something. Turns out I was wrong, I had gallstones. The pain was awful. I too had my gallbladder removed. I'm glad to hear that you are recovering well. Thank goodness for family! Take care!
