Resistance

For those of you who have not heard yet, I am OFF sugar. Well, off SWEETS that is. I am definitely not doing the no-carb thing. I just wanted to test my will power and see if I could do it. I also saw a need to do SOMETHING. Since I am not technically dieting or even remotely trying to be healthy, I figured I should cut out sweets for a while. So, until June 9th (my birthday) I am resisting sweets. So long, ice cream, cookies, cake, candy, brownies, hot chocolate, cupcakes, etc, etc...see you in a few months.

Now, I have done great so far. But, yesterday was a real test of my will.
I made these brownies...
with chocolate chunks...
I really wanted to eat one of those chunks.

When I was done mixing,
I really wanted to take a lick of the spoon.

But, I resisted!

Besides, I am not off sweets completely...

I still get to nibble on sweet chubby cheeks
and
houndstooth wrapped baby legs

Who could resist?

Oh my gosh!!! good for you and being strong against sweets! I need to try that, but they are my vice. And your little Eve is seriously the most precious little thing ever! She just gets cuter and cuter!

Ya, I'm pretty sure when you're off sweets you shouldn't have to make brownies or other goodies, that's just not fair!!! Good luck and keep us updated.

i am impressed by your will power! I would have broken down in a mad sweat if I had a stare down with that chocolaty spoon. I wouldn't last a day!! As they say in water boy, "you can do eet!"

From someone who considers it a major victory to go ONE DAY without sweets, I am very impressed that you are off sweets until your birthday! It sounds like you are already doing a great job! Preston actually went off of sweets for all of 2008...I think it was harder for me than it was for him because I didn't have anyone to eat ice cream with!! ;) But I was pretty proud of him for doing it. Anyway, you look great and Eve is a doll -- glad you guys are doing well!

Oh, go you! Good luck with that, I don't think I could do it.

But true, Eve might help curb the temptations, lol. You're so cute!

I did that once when I was a teenager. I went a year without soda and candy. I doubt I could do it now that I have kids. Good luck!! I'm sure you'll do great!
