Lately, Russ and I have been talking about challenges.
Not the challenges that we all inevitably face in life but the kind you take on purposely.
As we talked last night and tried to figure out what challenges we might do and or are doing Russ said something about not liking a challenge I had given him. But I told him that was the whole purpose of a challenge. We may not like it and it is most likely going to be difficult but that is what a challenge is. He tried to convince me to change one of my challenges (make it more difficult) but I just reminded him of all the challenges I am currently participating in. He then called me the "CHALLENGE MASTER."
So, just so you all know my awesomeness as challenge master I am going to let you know what I have been doing.
1. No sweets since January. No sweets until June. (Whoever said that after a couple weeks the cravings would go away are either crazy or have never gone without sweets.)
2. Running. 2 or 3 times a week. About 3 miles. The other day I ran 4. Let me just express the fact that I hate running. I have never really liked it. However due to the fact that I am overweight, got a free jogging stroller from a friend and have no gym membership I am doing it. I actually like it for about the first 1/4 mile. And then hate it until I am done. That is when I LOVE it, when it is over.
3. I decided to go without Facebook for a month. Not hard you say? Well, I am a stay at home mom and like to browse the computer while I am nursing my baby. Besides, I am a people person and have this need to feel cool....did I mention I have like 830 friends? (Russ said I should try to go without the computer period, but I use it for too many other important things like my church calling and paying bills, and a major form of communication, etc.)
4. No TV. I don't have set limits and or time frames on this one. I want it to be indefinite. I find that my life is so much more productive without tv. I find that I feel better by the end of the day when I haven't wasted time watching crappy tv shows. I do watch PBS sometimes but rarely have the tv on in the evening. My time with Russ and Eve is more important and besides it helps me feel a little more peaceful.
5. The last challenge which I have yet to achieve is going to bed earlier. We stay up entirely WAY TOO LATE and it drives me crazy. But, I have yet to really change it. So, here's to getting to bed between 10 and 11!
So, are you as awesome as I am? What challenges are you working on?
P.S. Nancy may have just passed me up in the challenge department (she just birthed a baby this morning.)

Great challenges! I think I need to copy you and challenge myself a lot more. I get way lazy. Can I be your running buddy?
P.S. I love your advice! I can't wait to have babies! I probably won't go till five, but I am definitely not against people who do. Much love.
Hey we are on the same page. We are loosing the internet in a few days and I am seriously debating if I need to get it! I think I might just use my friends or the library to update my blog and check my email. With the moving around we don't have TV and I love it, and I am off sugar to avoid gaining too much weight here at the end of the pregnancy. SO you are an inspiration, keep it up!
Great Challenges. I have been doing a challenge with our local newspaper called "Trim to Win". The contest ends this week yet I don't feel like I lost enough to win, yet I did win for myself as I lost 45 lbs since Jan. At the start of May I will be doing the "Body for Life" challenge.
We have not watched T.V. for 6 years and love it. We have a T.V. set for just watching movies.
Getting to bed early is also one of my challenges as I normally don't go to bed until 2 or 3a.m. With having the kids 24/7, after they go to bed this is my down time.
Keep up the great work.
I admire you! I should totally do the sugar challenge, but sugar just makes me SO happy. I can't imagine my life without it. How pathetic am I? Luckily, we don't have cable or dish, so while our TV viewing is more than it should be, it isn't too out of control. You look great by the way. Have you lost weight?
Thanks for the shout out Becca. I love the verb "birthed" it sound disgusting. You are the challenge master. Keep up the good work!
