blueberries

I am beginning to really enjoy the bounty that Florida has to offer.
First it was fresh strawberries. They made some yummy jam.
Then, Heather and I decided to go pick blueberries. The PLUMPEST, JUICIEST, SWEETEST blueberries, ever. Sun-ripened. Delicious!!(and WAY cheaper than storebought, like 1/4 of the price!)
We picked about 9 lbs.
We made two batches of jam and had quite a load of berries leftover. I froze mine and have been using them in whole wheat muffins and pancakes. mmmm.....

Eve and Elle did so well together.
They shared some pretzels.

But Eve mostly ate blueberries.

From the bushes

from the bucket

and even from the ground.

Here are a few pictures to document the process. (Besides, I rarely post without putting up a bunch of pictures.)

Here is the beautiful and surprisingly ambitious Heather. (She is suffering from a bad case of pregnancy induced morning-sickness.)

This jam is so good. On toast, in pb&j sandwiches, on pancakes, and licked off the knife.
YUM-EE!!

Wow- I'm jealous! Where do you go to pick fruit? I didn't know that was close by... but then again I haven't looked. I use to do that when I was a little girl- we'd pick strawberries and cherries and my mom would always tell them to weigh me and my little sis before we picked and after... we'd leave with full bellies and stained shirts! :)
